What to do in Versailles?
The Palace of Versailles remains one of the must-sees for a visit to Versailles. Its impressive architecture and sumptuous decoration plunges us into the intimacy of the 17th and 18th century monarchs.
This building is a true architectural masterpiece and represents one of the most beautiful creations of French art in the 17th century. At the entrance to the Palace of Versailles, you will find the Royal Opera. The decorations in the opera are particularly sophisticated. From the ceiling to the stage, every element that makes up the building was carefully planned.
The Palace of Versailles is also surrounded by a park of more than 2,050 acres. While strolling through the gardens of the Palace of Versailles, take the time to stop by the Grand Canal and the Châteaux de Trianon. The gardens of the castle transport us into an almost magical world, with its majestic ponds and fountains.
How do I get to Paris?
The Palace of Versailles is located a few miles outside of Paris. From our hotel, as well as from the palace, you can easily get there directly by train (RER C). The train station closest to the palace is the Versailles-Château-Rive-Gauche station. Trains stop there every 15 minutes, on average.
If you visit Paris directly from our hotel, the nearest station is the Saint-Cyr station. Trains to Saint-Martin d’Etampes run every 30 minutes on average. The RER C serves the Champ de Mars Tour Eiffel, Pont de l’Alma and Invalides stations, located in the center of Paris.
