An interesting story about Quimper
The Breton language is a true institution. In Breton, the city of Quimper is called “Kemper”, and the locals are known as the the “Kemperad” (male) and Kemperadez (female). In 2008, the city signed the Ya d’ar brezhoneg charter as part of a campaign led by the Office of the Breton Language to promote its use in the region. In fact, now in 2019, over 1,000 students are taught in the Breton language in Quimper, thanks an offer of bilingual classes.
