In 2 days
In 1 week
As a family
The château de Versailles and its domain are well worth a two day stay. Our Kyriad hotels are located nearby. The castle, designed and occupied by Louis XIV in the seventeenth century, is a Mecca of the French monarchy. Do not miss the impressive Hall of Mirrors and King and Queen's apartments. It is well worth spending a day visiting the parks alone. A blend of water features and French gardens created by André Le Nôtre, these 800 hectares of green spaces are definitely a must-see.
If you stay for several days in our hotels in Versailles, you will have the opportunity to make further discoveries. Because, outside of the royal domain, the other neighborhoods of this city of Île-de-France are worth visiting. For example, go for a stroll in the picturesque antique dealers district, then visit the Notre-Dame church in the parish of the castle. Do not miss the Jeu de Paume room in Old Versailles, where the treaty was signed announcing the end of the monarchy. Finally, in the Saint-Louis district, admire the cathedral and the King's kitchen garden.
If you are visiting Versailles with your family, there's nothing like making a little preparation. Our Kyriad accommodation is located near the castle, convenient if you have children. Do not hesitate to book your tickets in advance, you will avoid the queues. In addition, special family guided tours are offered to discover the area in a fun way. Another tip: take the small train that runs through the park to the hamlet of Marie-Antoinette, which always pleases the youngest. Finally, rent boats on the Grand Canal for a relaxing moment or take a carriage ride through the city.

An interesting story about Versailles
The Hall of Mirrors of the Palace of Versailles is one of the feats of the seventeenth century: the manufacture of mirrors was extremely expensive at the time. With exactly 357 mirrors, this gallery, completed in 1684, was intended to dazzle the many guests of the monarch Louis XIV and highlight the greatness of the French monarchy. More recently, it was in this hall that the Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28, 1919, which put an end to the First World War. Continue your visits and book a room at one of our Kyriad hotels in Île-de-France.
