On the weekend, you’ll have time to immerse yourself in the city’s atmosphere, which is easy to discover from your base at the Kyriad hotel in La Flèche. The next day, visit the Loire’s most stunning château, Chenonceaux, located near Tours, as well as its renowned gallery overlooking the Cher.

If there’s one thing you cannot miss during your stay at the La Flèche Kyriad, it's the zoo. It's one of Europe's largest, created in 1946, with 1,500 animals on nearly 18 hectares of land. Rhinos, elephants, panthers, as well as dozens of species of birds and monkeys await the whole family. Some are even visible from the restaurant! Looking for big thrills? Bring your kids to show off their own monkey skills on the Accrobranches park obstacle course. Le Carroi, the cultural events association of La Flèche, hosts numerous unmissable festivals and events. Every Friday, a concert is given at Henri IV square, near your Kyriad hotel. The program includes classical music, chamber music, contemporary music, percussion, jazz… Les Affranchis, the theater festival, takes over the city during the second weekend of July. In March, the fair comes to town. Known as the Foire des Cendres, it blends entertainment and sublime cuisine, and can be found in the city center.

La Flèche is a city of culture: in addition to being home to one of the country’s best military schools, the Prytanée militaire national of La Flèche, whose students go on to occupy top military or administration positions, it is the city where English philosopher David Hume wrote A Treatise of Human Nature. Devoted to reason, knowledge, sentiment, emotions and the basis of morality, this treatise only became successful after the death of its author.
