Interesting facts
The Palais de l'Île is also nicknamed "the old prison" by the inhabitants of Annecy. This 12th century medieval building is located on an island above the Thiou River. The monument is known to have hosted the prison of the city until the French Revolution. Today, it is used as an exhibition gallery dedicated to the architecture and history of Annecy.
