An interesting story about Saint-Brieuc
Saint-Brieuc owes its name to the first bishop of the city, Brioc. Arriving from Wales in the 5th Century, this Breton monk discovered a water source in the highlands and had a monastery built at the site. The body of water remains visible today, on the premises of the chapel Notre-Dame de la Fontaine, on Notre-Dame street. As for Brieuc, who became Saint Brieuc, he is part of the legend of the seven founding Saints of Bretagne, honored by several places of worship and pilgrimages, including the Tro Breiz!
