The Convent des Cordeliers and its modern art collections or the Raoul Castle and Balsan Park are just a short walk away.In the evening, enjoy the gastronomy of Indre at one of the many traditional restaurants that our receptionist will be able to point you towards.
Deepen your visit to Chateauroux by discovering the Bertrand castle, named after a Napoleonic marshal, and its unique Empire collections. You will also discover paintings and archaeological collections. Then leave your Kyriad accommodation for a walk in the countryside. La Brenne Park has observatories designed to study fauna and flora and its many ponds. In Déols, go for a walk in the forest of the Ringoire, have lunch at the restaurant then visit the castle of Bouge. Finally, the Creuse Valley offers surprising natural landscapes (cliffs, creeks, etc.) that inspired so many local painters that it is known as the "Vallée des Artistes."
Family fun in Châteauroux or the Department of Indre is easy. Children and parents can visit the Ecoparc of the Cheneviere, where Camargue horses and Scottish sheep graze among medicinal herbs grown in the region. Interesting facts about Chateauroux
Chateauroux would not exist if Raoul le Large, the prince of Déols, had not wanted to leave the family home in Déols to build the “Raoul Castle” in the 19th century. Around it were built living quarters and businesses which would bring life to the city. Although located just outside of your Kyriad facility, it is currently the prefect’s residence, so it is not possible to visit it.
