If there’s one character who has marked Nancy and its history more than any other, it’s Stanislas Leszczynski, who lent his name to Place Stanislas, blessed the world with the rum baba, and is buried at the Church of Notre Dame de Bonsecours. Once king of Poland, Stanislas lost his throne and lived in exile until his daughter, Marie Leszczynska married the king of France, Louis XV, in 1725.
