As a family
Between its Roman heritage, its unusual streets, and well-maintained green spaces, Nîmes is positively teeming with wonders! The location of your 3-star Kyriad hotel in Nîmes makes discovering everything by foot a breeze. During your stay, be sure to check out: the Place aux Herbes, the Place de l’Horloge and its tower, The Esplanade and the Pradier Fountain, and the Place du Chapitre. Not to mention the famous Nîmes arenas that host the Ferias. Close to the arenas you’ll find excellent local cuisine, brasseries, Michelin-starred or traditional restaurants, it’s up to you to decide. Discover the magical narrow streets of the historic center where you can stroll along the terraces or do some shopping. What a beautiful part of Occitanie!
One week will give you time to discover all the wonders of Nîmes. You can round off your urban tour with the Maison Carrée and Magne Tower, or discover the artistic heritage of the city at the Old Nîmes Museum, the Carré d’Art, or the Musée des Cultures Taurines. Our receptionist will help you put together an itinerary. In the evening, head to the Market, a terrace, or the restaurant to discover the region’s gourmet cuisine.
In addition to cultural sightseeing and historical heritage discovery, nature is quite close to your 3-star Kyriad hotel. Set out on your bike to visit the Clos Gaillard, Espeissess woods, or Escattes estate, and come back to the city for dinner at the restaurant. Looking for a bit of culture for the little ones? Attend an educational performance on the city's Roman past at the Maison Carrée. Craving adventure? Camargue Autrement offers Land Rover tours through the neighboring Camargue, with plenty of surprises along the way. To keep it simple, Nîmes features plenty of playgrounds, bowling alleys, and swimming pools.

The culinary specialties of Nîmes
The culinary specialties of Nîmes cuisine are heavily influenced by the culinary heritage of Provence, with a dash of Italian and Spanish flair. Those with a weakness for savory dishes will enjoy the presence of the olive and its oil, tapenade, cod brandade, zarzuela (a stew of Spanish origin), fougasse, and taureau à la gardiane. If you have a sweet tooth, you’ll certainly want to bring an oreillette (doughnut) back to your room at the Kyriad hotel, or enjoy some strawberries gariguettes or some dragées, the pride of the city. Finally, you must sample the costières de Nîmes, in red, white, or rosé, some of which join the ranks of the country’s finest wines.

Don’t miss the feria de Nîmes
Every year, near the Pentecost, the Feria takes place in Nîmes. Downtown is invaded by visitors, ready to join the party. Come experience a folk festival combining bullfighting, local cuisine, and ancient traditions. The parade of penas (a sort of carnival float accompanied by a crowd in disguises) should not be missed for any reason. Many pop-up bars open along the streets, offering simple drinks and culinary specialties in an unrestrained atmosphere. It’s not always easy to find your way back to the room after an evening in the bodegas during the feria!

Feria de Nîmes, a must-experience Occitan event
It was lawyer Bernard de Montaut-Manse who formalized the bullfighting spectacles as we know them today. He was also a stock breeder in Gard. The arenas are within walking distance of your 3-star Kyriad hotel in Nîmes. Today, the killing of the animals is no longer routine, and it would be a pity to leave the city without visiting the arena during a corrida.
