Burgundy, a region with a rich wine-growing tradition
In Burgundy, each winemaking confrérie (brotherhood) owns the statue of its patron saint, which is hosted by a different family every year.Since 1938, the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin has turned this tradition into an annual and popular celebration, the Saint Vincent tournante, which takes place annually in a different wine village in Burgundy.Early in the morning, a hundred confréries march solemnly, then attend a mass where former winemakers are inducted. This rich heritage is celebrated over the course of two days of tastings and festivities.
Visit the Burgundy Canal
River cruises on the Burgundy Canal are an original way to discover the rich local heritage. The canal is open from April to October and is now reserved for pleasure boating.Indulge in a bucolic dream through a rolling landscape. The Châteauneuf-en-Auxois castle dominates this countryside landscape and you can stop by its vineyards to enjoy crémant, a fabulous AOC sparkling wine. This cool, relaxing “slow tourism” vibe can also be found in the evening after a delightful day, in the comfort of your Kyriad room.
